We are delighted to invite you to participate in the International ‘Zaragoza HPB Meeting and UEMS HPB Preparatory Course’, which will be held on September 26-27, 2025, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zaragoza.
The preparatory course is designed to train across the discipline of hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery to better prepare for UEMS, European Board of Surgery, Section of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary examination. The trainees will gain core knowledge, skills and exam taking strategies. The course covers all the topics of the UEMS Examination in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery.
The conference is intended for general surgeons of all professional qualifications and resident doctors of all specialties.

This is aimed at surgeons interested in furthering their training in hepato-pancreatic-biliary disorders. The Postgraduate Course is a preparatory course towards the UEMS HPB examination. The Post Graduate Course will run live throughout the 2 days and the programme will be published in due course.
Objectives
- Ability to understand and diagnose diseases of the liver, the biliary tract, the pancreas, the spleen and the portal venous system.
- Ability to develop a treatment strategy according to professional standards for these diseases and to execute it.
- Ability to deal with postoperative complications in this field of surgery.
